Aaron and Amethyst's Wedding

The wedding is done and over with! As much as I love my little brother, I am very grateful that he is married and on his honeymoon! LOL Wedding's are just sooooo much work. I am however very happy for both of them. They are very good for each other and Amethyst is a true blessing. I included some pics from the wedding. I really should have taken a before and after of Taylor- he was a mess by the end. The other two pics are of the girls and the girls with their cousin and Aaron (he's always getting as many loves as he can!)
Now that the wedding is over, it's back to life as crazy! (crazy is normal for us) I have midterms in two weeks YIKES! but at the same time, Ryan and I will be leaving on our 10th anniversary trip. I am really looking forward to it! It is kind of bad timing as far as school is concerned but it will all work out- besides I could really use the break. The idea of spending three whole days with only my husband sounds wonderful! It has been a long time since we have been able to do anything like this. I always said that we would go on a cruise for #10 but it doesn't work with the time constraints of school- maybe for our 15th?!?
The kids continue to grow like weeds and of course they always have some cute thing up their sleeves. It always amazes me the thoughts that come out of their mouths. LOL I am constantly laughing. I think that is the key to not losing it- laughter. They are looking forward to the weekend that they will be spending with Aaron and Amethyst while we are gone. Jessica asked me this morning how many days until she gets to have her "fun" weekend. I laughed and asked her if mommy and daddy weren't fun, she respond, "you're fun, but Aaron and Amethyst are REALLY fun." Like I said, laughter keeps me from going insane.

Mom's Brain is Sleeping

So this laugh comes from our 8 (almost 9) year old Kelsi. Last week I worked all night on Tuesday after going to school all day. Needless to say, when I do this I don't get much sleep on Wednesday because Taylor still needs attention. Kelsi came home from school on Wednesday and I was laying on the couch, semi-conscious, when she asked me to help her with a homework question. I told her that I was too tired to concentrate and she would need to wait for her dad to get home to help her. A few hours later when Ryan came home, Kelsi went up to him and said, "Mom's brain doesn't work today, so she said you have to help me with my homework!" I think that about sums up my children's ideas about mom going to school. Oh well, this too will pass, right?!? The picture is of her making a funny face a Disneyland over Christmas. It shows her personality to a tee.

Bruises, cuts, and more bruises

I am seriously beginning to wonder how my mother survived the antics of four boys! Taylor has become such a handful... every time I turn around, he is on the table- literally. Yesterday he managed to cut open the same eye twice within 5 minutes. I included a picture- notice the old bruises in various stages of healing across his forehead. The sad thing is that he isn't even two yet...
I managed to make it through my first official semester of Nursing school. i took my finals on Tuesday and am looking forward to two weeks off. Next semester is going to be even busier with the addition of clinicals. I am just going to have to take it one day at a time and realize that this too will pass.
The girls are great- they are such wonderful helpers with Taylor. Of course, they also love to chase him around and make him giggle. This seems to be their favorite game. They have decided that puzzles are great fun and we have recently put together two huge puzzles to hang in their room. One was 1500 pieces and the other was 1000. It took awhile but it was great family time and a good lesson in patience for the girls.
For those of you here in Utah, I am sure that you will agree when I say that I am really tired of the snow. Even the girls have started telling me that they're tired of it. This last week we finally started to see our grass- it's snowing again today! Oh well, how much longer can it possibly last? It has to get warm eventually... And we are all looking forward to it.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope that it is going great so far! I'm including some more Disneyland pics in this blog- enjoy. There is one of Ryan in fairy wings with our other two Tinker Bells... just to set the record straight, he won a new hat and $10 for wearing the wings LOL. It was great! Just don't tell him that I posted the pic. The other ones are of the kids with Mickey Mouse and Jessica adoring Pluto- the look on her face is why I love Disneyland so much! Kids should always be allowed to go somewhere very magical as much as possible!
On to my story for this post... the other day I was taking Jessica to school and she asked me when I was born. I told her my birthday and she goes, "no, what year?" So, I tell her I was born in 1977. She paused for a minute and then says, "Whoa, that was when George Washington was around". OK, so I feel old LOL! I never thought I would get to the point in life when my kids would think that I was around with the dinosaurs... apparently I was wrong on both accounts. It isn't dinosaurs, it's George Washington.
Everything is going good around here. We are all very busy... well, mom is busy. It's rare that Ryan and I see each other and much more common for us to exchange kids in between work. This too shall pass... I know that it will all be worth it when I can work three days a week and that's full time, while making a good amount of money. Have a great day!!

Christmas in Disneyland

Oh how we love Disneyland! We spent two days before and Christmas day at Disneyland this year. We took all of the kids (Taylor too), my parents, and my brother Ryan and his kids. We had a blast. Just the warm weather alone was worth the trip! When we left Utah it was 12, in California the next day it was 75. Talk about a major difference! Disneyland was decked out for the holidays in true Disney style with huge Christmas trees, snow on the castle, and even Santa at the beach in California Adventure. The kids were amazed once again by all of the Disney "magic". They even make it snow every night on Main street. Everyone had a great time.
We hope that your Christmas was memorable and wonderful as well and that the true meaning of the season was in your heart. And may all of the holiday season be blessed for you and your families as well as the New Year.
We are sending out New Year's cards this year instead of Christmas cards because I wanted to include pics from our trip, so watch the mail for it.

We Moved

So this blog is almost a month late- Sorry- life has been crazy!! We moved at the end of November into a home in North Orem. Matt and Kim wanted the basement apartment, and well, having our own house is nice too! I have found things that I forgot that I had because it was in storage. LOL! Everything else (phone, email) stayed the same. The girls are now attending Bonneville Elementary. It's fun because I went to kindergarten at this same school and Jessica is even in the same classroom I was. Things are going good and we are adjusting to the move. Keep in touch.
