Our Elf has a friend

Marty the Elf brought home a friend from the North Pole last night. Meet Timmy the Reindeer. I guess Marty needed someone to play with on those long winter nights. I guess that Marty and Timmy were trying to go down the chimney of Marty's house. It doesn't look like it's working too well....
Actually, looking closer, I think that Marty is trying to shove Timmy down the chimney! LOL!

Our new elf house

I guess that Marty Mischief felt that a bed was simply not enough! Last night while Taylor was sleeping, his elf built an elf house. He also made a HUGE mess in the process. I guess that all good projects are messy! This elf home is DELUXE! Marty has everything from framed pictures of Mr. and Mrs. Claus and Rudolf to a Christmas tree and fireplace. I have to say that Taylor was most amazed that Marty has his very own door to Santa's Workshop! It appears to go to nowhere but we all know how magical elfs are. Taylor has decided that this is how Marty gets back and forth between the North Pole and our house so quickly!! I do hope that Marty is done building... he is going to take over the living room if this keeps up!!!
(This mom has to work the next few days so I will try to keep the blog up to date but no promises- stay tuned.....)

Marty makes a bed

Taylor tucked Marty in last night on top of a pillow and with a blanket. I guess Marty thought that he should have his own bed- so he built it while we were sleeping last night. He sure made a huge mess doing it too- but Taylor was pretty good about cleaning it all up! He even told me, "well, he's my elf- so I have to clean up after him!" It was in one of those "daaah mom" voices. We will see what Marty comes up with tonight.......

Marty Mischief- the Christmas Elf

I have been seeing on the internet this cute tradition to have an elf come to your house for Christmas. I just love this kind of fun tradition! I had Taylor write to Santa and ask him for an elf that is "finished with his Christmas chores." This is what Taylor found this morning sitting on top of the TV.And this was the letter that came with the elf...
I am going to try to keep the blog up to date with the antics of Marty Mischief the Elf. Stay tuned for fun and laughs....

Mom and Jessica's project

Kelsi went to girl's camp last week so I decided to spend some extra time with Jessica and do a project together. I found this great, old swing on KSL.com for cheap- so Jessica and I set out to recover and repaint it. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and it makes a great addition to our back deck. Granted, I did most of the work and Jessica did most of the talking- but hey, isn't that what mommy daughter projects are for??? On to the before and after pics....

Above is the before from the ad on KSL, below the finished project on our back deck.

Grandma's Final Disneyland Update

The kids loved playing with the Faries- Taylor and Tink had quite the conversation- He sent her to her room and she went.... then proceeded to knock on the door and ask if she could come out. It was pretty cute and Taylor is still talking about sending Tink to her room!

This is Taylor dancing around before the parade started. He was doing his "cool dance moves!"

The fam with Mickey

And of course Taylor just adored him- Mickey even signed the book special for him with his name and everything. Taylor was soooo amazed that Mickey knew his name and he said "Mom, he must 'member me from before!"

We had a great time on our trip! We are sad to leave Disneyland but glad to be home to our own beds.
